Broken.

We are so busy fighting over which music is right, which is wrong. Sometimes we think that we are different and we have "figured out" what works. We are the better followers because we know how to do things right. We claim we know what will keep people tuned in, what won't. So busy fighting over who is more spiritual and who knows more theology. Hating our brothers and sisters because they don't do enough for us and spoon feed us when we demand it. Too busy being angry at the preacher because he doesn't do enough for our friends. SO caught up in being a certain denomination and forget it about the relationship that changed our lives.

People on the outside see this. And do cartwheels down the wrong way as we watch in our complacency because inviting them to the building was supposed to "fix" them.

In a word, there are three things
that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love. 1 Cor. 13

It's as if we've forgotten the True Love that first loved us, and we react by throwing compassion and grace towards others out the window.

John 8.

Speaking of music... I'm going to make a shameless plug...hahaha

http://www.lecraerebel.com/

especially the song "rebel intro"

but I know what you mean...it's the effects of a post-christian nation. Be thankful that you have those frustrations to keep you in check with what genuine love is though. It's hard out here in Japan where you have to start from ground zero when you meet someone...it's a different struggle than back home. I'm thankful that we don't have those pharisees out here BUT the reason why there isn't is sad...Japan needs a savior as much as America does.

You're right. True love is exemplified in what God did for us...the Father, Son and Holy Spirit...we need to be mindful of what God has done for us because his love causes us to let our love be genuine. I heard a good sermon by Mark Driscoll the other day where he talks about how people bring friends and family members to church so they can get "fixed" but in reality God works through his children obeying him just as he does his word and prayer...

Being a Christian is both a relationship horizontally with God but also obeying Him in our vertical relationships. That's how we set our minds on things above that is how HE truly changes our lives and helps that change in us affect others.

Love ya girl! keep fightin the good fight!!! and keep blogging i like keeping up with ya here :)
